Last weekend was truly special for the SIM83 team. We attended the Carriers’ Family Meeting 2026, organised annually by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS). This event, which for years has been bringing together transport families, truck drivers and companies from the logistics industry, was particularly well attended this year. For us, it was an opportunity to demonstrate how simulation technology is transforming the training of professional drivers.
At the invitation of Prah Group, one of the leading driver training centres in Slovenia, we built a completely new truck driving simulator. It is a customised version of the SIM83-TS03 model, which will be used for educating and training truck drivers as part of the CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) Code 95 programme.

What is Code 95 and why does it matter for truck drivers
Code 95 is a mandatory entry in a driver’s licence confirming that the holder has completed the prescribed periodic training for the professional operation of motor vehicles in categories C, CE, D and DE. In accordance with European Directive 2003/59/EC, all professional drivers must complete 35 hours of compulsory training every five years. Without a valid Code 95 entry, a truck or bus driver may not drive professionally, making it an essential qualification for every commercial driver in Slovenia and across the European Union.
Code 95 training programmes cover a broad spectrum of topics, from eco-driving and safe driving practices, knowledge of regulations, to emergency response and driver health. Simulators such as our SIM83-TS03 play a crucial role in this process, as they enable realistic practice of hazardous situations without any risk to drivers or bystanders.
SIM83-TS03: A truck simulator built for professional driver training
The SIM83-TS03 is our dedicated truck simulator, which we further customised for the Prah Group to meet their specific Code 95 training requirements. The simulator is designed to provide drivers with the most realistic truck driving experience possible, including:
- Realistic driver environment – an ergonomic seat that replicates a truck cabin, combined with an authentic steering system and pedal assembly
- Multi-screen display – a wide field of view enabling full situational awareness, including rear-view mirrors
- Advanced software – simulation of various weather conditions, road situations and traffic scenarios tailored to Code 95 training
- Custom modifications – for the Prah Group, we implemented additional scenarios covering eco-driving techniques, hazardous situations and driving in challenging conditions

For professional users seeking top-quality hardware for their simulation setups, we also offer solutions from partners such as Fanatec and Thrustmaster, whose steering systems and pedals are renowned for exceptional precision and durability. In professional simulators, the quality of input devices is critical for a credible simulation experience.
Carriers’ Family Meeting 2026: An unforgettable experience
The Carriers’ Family Meeting is a unique event in the Slovenian transport sector. Transport families, drivers and logistics professionals gather each year to exchange experiences, discover new technologies and strengthen community bonds. This year’s event was organised to the highest standard, with a rich programme featuring expert presentations, exhibitions and social activities.

Our exhibition stand attracted considerable attention. Visitors enthusiastically tested the simulator, with many experiencing for the first time just how realistic a truck driving simulation can be. From experienced drivers verifying the simulation’s accuracy to younger generations observing the technology with keen interest – the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
Benefits of simulator-based training for Code 95
Using simulators in Code 95 programmes offers numerous advantages over traditional training methods. Simulators enable practice of scenarios that would be too dangerous or costly to perform on actual roads, such as emergency braking at high speeds, driving on snow-covered or icy roads, and reacting to unexpected obstacles.
Additionally, simulator-based training significantly reduces fuel and vehicle maintenance costs while being more environmentally friendly. Drivers can repeat challenging scenarios as many times as needed until they master them, without any risk to themselves, other road users or equipment. The SIM83-TS03 also supports advanced software solutions that record and analyse each driver’s performance, enabling instructors to take a personalised approach to training.

Acknowledgements and looking ahead
We sincerely thank the Prah Group for their trust and excellent collaboration in developing this simulator. Their vision of using modern technologies in professional driver education is exemplary and fully aligns with our mission – to raise the level of road safety through advanced simulation technology.
We also extend our gratitude to the organisers of the Carriers’ Family Meeting at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, who create an exceptional space each year for networking, learning and forging new connections in the transport industry. The event was flawlessly organised and we truly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, the brilliant conversations and the enthusiasm of all visitors.
A special thank you to all visitors who came to test the simulator and asked us excellent questions. Your feedback and enthusiasm are our greatest reward and confirmation that our work is meaningful and important.

SIM83 solutions for transport companies
If you are a transport company, driving school or training centre considering the introduction of simulator-based training, we invite you to get in touch. Our simulators are designed for professional use and are customised to meet your specific needs, just as we did for the Prah Group.
For those who would like to build their own simulator, our product page also offers individual components from leading manufacturers such as Moza Racing for precision steering systems and Trak Racer for robust simulator frames that withstand even the most demanding use.
Simulation technology is no longer the future – it is the present. And at SIM83, we are proud to be part of this revolution in driver education.
